Cyber NOW® SOC Analyst Jobs Report
This is our third month that we have conducted a job hunt and listed all of the True Entry Level SOC Analyst Jobs on our website in one place that is easy to digest and read. These are jobs that don’t require any cybersecurity experience but many of them do require previous working experience, usually in IT.
- Three months ago we could only find 22 jobs.
- Last month we found 30 jobs.
- And this month we found 36 jobs.
The job market appears to be trending in the right direction and we believe what we are seeing is an ebb in the ebb and flow of a job market.
There are many reasons why this has happened from the downturn of the economy, to AI and Automation taking jobs from us. There have been massive layoffs in companies that saturated the job market all-the-while people that decided to enroll in cybersecurity degree programs at the beginning of COVID are just now graduating and entering the market.
We are getting ready to conduct another job search in just a few days and if you sign up to be put on our list you’ll receive an email just like this about our next curated job search and to notify you to go look at them.
We have added a donate option to the website to help us keep this service running. The service cost $93 to run every month between website hosting and the nominal fee I pay Matthew Peterson for his time. It usually takes him 8+ hours to document all of the month’s jobs so make no mistake about it that Matt isn’t doing this for the money. The analytics say that 98.2% of the people come to the jobs page and drop off the website without looking at anything else so it’s not providing much in the way of sales either so this was our GFI to keep this valuable service to the community running.
Other options include corporate sponsorship and partnerships and we’re open to hear about it.
Business is certainly growing for Cyber NOW Education, however, and its only the two of us holding it down.
We will be conducting our first webinar, “Strategies to Become a SOC Analyst” based on the research from my recently published award-winning book Jump-start Your SOC Analyst Career. This hour long webinar will operate many times throughout the year and will work on a pay-what-you-can model. We hope you would throw a few bucks at us, but if you can’t afford anything you’re more than welcome to join us too. We will begin to offer webinars in many various topics.
The book also spawned the second edition of SOC Analyst NOW! online course complete with quizzes, assignments, and projects that you can purchase from the website. We hope that in the future we can offer this as a live-online course as well if there is enough interest in it.
On the website there is also a free Job Hunting Tracker Spreadsheet that you can download from the Secure Style Store that is a nifty way to keep track of all of your job applications.
